I came across this recipe several years ago and have used it more times than I can count! This is a cookie dough base…whip this up and then you can add whatever you want to it… Various chocolates, Butterfinger chunks, nuts, toffees, m&m’s, candy pieces…the choices are unlimited! These cookies are so light and fluffy when warm! Let them cool and they are chewy. Bake a little longer if you like crispy cookies.
Mix 1 c packed brown sugar, 1/2 c white sugar, 2 eggs, 1 c vegetable shortening, and 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. I crank my stand mixer all the way up and let it go! Let it whip at least 5 minutes for super fluffy cookies.
Add in 2 1/2 c all purpose flour, 1 tsp baking SODA, and 1 tsp salt.
Mix all ingredients well.
Add 3/4 C – 1 C of your choice (candy pieces, nuts, etc)
Drop your dough onto baking sheet. You can shape your dough into balls or just leave it as it drops.
Bake at 350 degrees for 9-11 minutes.
Let your cookies cool on your baking sheet for about 5minutes before removing onto a cooling rack.
Store leftovef in an air tight container.
